Bob Jackson, Waterlefe MPOA Representative, on behalf of the Waterlefe Board of Directors, July 13, 2007.
I t has been a pleasure collaborating with someone who is so sensitive to and adept at issues of scale, urban design, planning, and architecture. The proof of your talent was your staff presentation of our work to the planning commission. You...have helped us come up with a wonderful response to the particular setting that is demanding on upscale development...
Mark S. Mucasey, Architect for Long Bar Point, November 8, 2004
Thank you Norm for ALL your hard work on the University Groves project. We can only begin to comprehend the uniqueness of the project and the amount of work it must have taken on your part to make it work.
Thank you for your help and willingness to participate in the entire process, from the neighborhood meetings to today's outcome. We appreciate your professionalism and knowledge. It is a star in the county's favor to have dedicated planners on staff such as yourself.
Jim and Barbara Nelson regarding University Groves, April, 22, 2003
Thank you again for all your hard work with the Harrison Ranch Project. You did a great job and handled a tough project very well and with much precision.
Kimberly Rosa, Attorney for Blaylock, Landers, Walter & Vogler, June 6, 2002
...thanks and appreciation for your efforts and time on Harrison Ranch. You have made the process easier and as “enjoyable” as possible. You need to know that the little things that you did made a difference. A county staff person like yourself is hard to find. Manatee County should be grateful for your dedication and concern. Norm, do not take this letter with a grain of salt! You are a special person!
Gordon Wardell, June 6, 2002
Norm, your help has been instrumental in building a community of which our company and residents are very proud. We appreciate all of your hard work and it has been a pleasure working with you.
Ira Locks, Development Manager for Sandspur Housing Partners regarding Sabal Cove, April, 26, 2002.
Your fine cooperation and patience is sincerely appreciated not only to my wife and I but also by the residents of Mill Creek who are so affected by this development (Oak Lake Estates subdivision)
William and Pamela Scutt, April, 15, 1999.
Please accept my sincere congratulations for the wonderful success of the Whitfield-Ballentine 75th Anniversary Celebration. Saturday evening was a delight and it is due to your careful planning and attention to detail.
I heard only good comments from the other attendees. Job well done, my friend!!
Lari Ann Harris, County Commissioner, District 4, March 23, 1999
I want to congratulate you on your performance with regard to this very difficult project. You conducted yourself in a very professional manner, were well prepared, and provided answers to complex Board member questions in a calm and reasoned demeanor. You did an outstanding job!!!!!
Joaquin Servia, Planning Department Administrator regarding the Waterlefe project, July 15, 1998
Thank you for the professional manner in which your recent Panther Ridge approval process was managed. ...we were kept well informed of planning staff recommendations, concerns were properly communicated...
Frank Buskirk, President, Panther Ridge Communities, May 27, 1998.
Norm Luppino was a most dependable and competent “docent” volunteer. He made himself available evenings and weekends when volunteers were hard to come by. Moreover, he was the only volunteer for Easter Sunday, which was above and beyond the “call of duty.”
Steve Belack, liaison between the Crosley Estate Foundation and the American Society of Interior Designer's showcase house, April 18, 1996.
Your community involvement is always exemplary. Thanks for giving us all a good name.
Carol Clark, Planning Director, April 24, 1996
During the past few months, my wife and I have received assistance from Mr. Norm Luppino. He has been a pleasure to work with. Without his assistance, our experience with the appproval/denial process of the Wal-Mart Superstore at SR 70 and US 301 would have been a nightmare.
My wife and I cannot stress enough the overall quality of service Mr Luppino provided. I realize that part of Mr Luppino's job description is to work with the public; however, based on our previous experiences, we feel he goes beyond the call of duty. Mr Luppino not only met our expectations, he far exceeded them. Between November 1994 and August 1995, there were numerous phone calls and visits with Mr Luppino. Never once did he ever appear upset or frustrated with our numerous inquires and concerns. Every time we came in contact with him, he treated us very professionally and always gave us his full attention.
Good employees often go without recognition. We were so impressed with Mr. Luppino, we felt you should be aware of such a quality employee. My wife and I cannot thank Mr Luppino enough for his outstanding assistance.
Kenneth Lackmann and Linda Lackman D.V.M., Candlewood subdivision, September 4, 1995.
Your hard work and devotion to your community is second to none.
Manatee County Commission Chairman, Lari Ann Harris, December 17, 1993
OUTSTANDING PERFOMANCE. Great job you did on Exclusive Unnamed DRI (University Park County Club). The project was complicated and every changing. You kept us all straight.
Carol Clarke, Planning Director, September 30, 1993
Congratulations on doing an excellent job of presenting a very complex rezoning request to the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission noted that it was an excellent job, which is even more impressive, given that they haven't previously been informed of the issues. Again, CONGRATULATIONS AND THANKS!
Betsy Benac, Acting Assistant Director, Creekwood Presentation, February 4, 1993
The planning commission meeting was a success due to the thorough presentation by Norm Luppino. He explained both sides of the issue... I would like to sincerely thank Mr. Luppino...for their time and attention.
Daniel Nettuno Sr., River Harbor West Homeowners Association, June 22, 1992.
During a time when the workload for the Department has been overwhelming; to volunteer any amount of time for an extra project (Manatee County Budget Fair Booth), should not go unnoticed. Thank you for your dedication and hard work.
Karen Jackson-Sims, Planning Director, October 12, 1990
Mr. Luppino was most helpful, both in the office and at the County Commission hearing.
Pastor John A. Cooper, Trinity Assembly of God, August 17, 1988
I appreciate your position and your concerns, especially your open mindedness and objectivity (you could have made it real difficult for us and didn't). I especially appreciate your taking the time to be so helpful.
Richard Kesten, Realtor, Green, Kesten & Associates, December 7, 1987
